Situated on the threshold of Metuchen’s development zone, The Grantham looks to act as a transitional parcel by linking Metuchen’s’ development plans with the established community. The projects’ massing attempts to reflect this intent through its materiality and massing. An unconventional site, the infill lot has no adjacent buildings. As such, the project attempts to respond to its environment and orientation in each elevation.  

The Grantham is a 28,717 sf 4 story apartment building. The building accommodates 22 apartments- (8) 1 bedrooms and (14) two bedroom units. 1 bedroom unit sizes are approximately 811 square feet. 2 bedroom unit sizes range from 845 to 968 square feet. With ceiling heights at 9’-0” and extensive glazing, care was taken to provide bright, airy, and free flowing units. In addition to an exterior patio at grade, a roof deck and secure bike storage, individual storage units are provided in the basement.
